My Journey in Health and Wellness
My journey in health and wellness is deeply personal. It began after witnessing the effects of chronic disease on people I loved.
In 1998, I watched my grandfather suffer through the later stages of Type 2 diabetes, including tremors and kidney complications. During the final days of his life, he shared words that would shape my purpose moving forward:
“Viva una vida larga y saludable” — “Live a long and healthy life.”
Those words stayed with me and became a guiding principle in my life.
In 2005, my best friend and workout partner passed away from an aggressive brain tumor known as Glioblastoma. Losing someone so close to me reinforced the importance of health awareness, early detection, and informed lifestyle choices.
In 2008, my beloved grandmother was diagnosed with Granulomatosis with polyangiitis, a rare inflammatory condition that can affect blood vessels and multiple organs throughout the body.
Just nine months later, my stepfather, a master carpenter whom I deeply respected and admired, lost his life to Pancreatic cancer. Witnessing the physical and emotional toll of serious illness left a lasting impact on me.
In 2011, another close friend of mine passed away after battling Multiple sclerosis. I remember him as a vibrant and active individual who loved running, cycling, and strength training. Watching the progression of the disease and its effect on his mobility was incredibly difficult.
Experiencing the loss of so many people close to me profoundly shaped the person I am today. These experiences strengthened my commitment to helping others focus on health education, physical activity, and lifestyle habits that support overall well-being.
Today, researchers and clinicians continue to study how lifestyle factors—including nutrition, physical activity, and metabolic health—may support overall health when used alongside appropriate medical care.
Researchers such as Dominic D’Agostino and Peter Attia have contributed valuable insights into metabolic health, nutritional science, and longevity.
Professional Experience
I have been involved in the professional fitness industry for over 26 years.
In addition, I have 23 years of experience as a Health and Wellness Coach and Certified Nutrition Consultant.
My approach focuses on holistic wellness and emphasizes nutrition and lifestyle patterns such as:
• Primal-style nutrition principles
• Paleo-inspired eating patterns
• Ketogenic metabolic strategies
• Functional whole-food nutrition
These approaches are discussed within the context of general wellness education and lifestyle guidance, not medical treatment.
My mission is to help individuals develop sustainable habits that support strength, mobility, longevity, and independence.
